Hi Aaron, the blog page looks great. Hopefully this will be an awesome place for people to express themselves and their faith.

The Project Briefing:

Bill wanted a place for people from the church to be able to express themselves, post content, thoughts, blogs, sermons, and so on. WordPress seemed like the most logical choice for CMS as it is designed for blogging, and there is a way to set it up to automatically post from emails recieved to a secret email address (though I never did get that to work). So far only one member took advantage of the blog to post a message, the majority of the postings are taken up by our podcast.

Podcasting

Podcasting in itself was quite a skill to learn. I had to find out about the XML requirements of Podcasts, and how to write the code so that iTunes would recognize it. I had to learn about RSS feeds and validifying the feed in order to be sure that our listeners could get updates as they were posted. It was a valuable skill to learn though.

Comments

It seems the CSS for the Comments boxes is still a little off, but so far not many people have used the boxes to write comments. I'd like to find a way to open more discussion about the sermons or the church. Maybe put the blog on the main page? What do you think? Drop me an email.
